Range of Solar Garden Lights

It's amazing how many new solar garden lighting products are coming on the market. It seems almost on a daily basis there are new environmentally friendly solar lights for your garden. Nowadays the solar technology has moved on so much that the manufacturers focus on the aesthetics of the light rather than having to worry about accomodating clunky technology. This results in vast range of solar lights, from the beautiful like the Murano Solar Garden Globe to the cool like the Sun Jar, to the downright quirky like the Hedgehog pack.

Solar Garden Lantern

I'm now the proud owner of a Solar Garden Lantern. This simple product is extremely inexpensive but is miraculous in the way it works. It is really simple to put together - you just screw the parts of the stake together and hang the lantern on the stake. Stick the stake wherever you want the solar light. I've got mine in a bed next to my pond - perfect. Then you switch it on and let the solar panels do their work. As dusk descends the light switches on and it has a flickering candle effect which really makes it look like a real candle, flickering away in your garden. For under a tenner this solar garden light is a must have.

Solar Security Lights

Looking out of the window once the sun has gone down my garden looks pretty dark in some corners so I thought I'd better invest in some solar security lights. Before I did that I was trying to understand what would be the environmental impact of adding a load of solar lights to my garden. Obviously they're envrionmentally friendly because they don't use electricity but are they damaging the wildlife at all. I think it depends on where you place them and how bright they are. More on that next time.

Solar Light Choices

Well I've been browsing around for some new solar garden lights and I've come across some great products. You should check out the Sun Jar. It's a simple jam jar with a light in it powered by solar power alone. Who'd have thought such an environmentally friendly and simple item would look so cool. I've also looked at the Venetian Solar Lights, very cool and modern stake lights that would look super along my new path. Then there's the Colour Changing Coasters which are drink mats which light up as it gets dusky. My patio's going to be a party of solar lights this summer.

Solar Path Lighting

I finally finished the path I've been building in my front garden for the last few months last week. So now I'm starting to plant along the edges which is the fun part. I'm going to plant some lovely eco friendly roses and some ivy. I'll also put some solar garden lights along the path lighting the way up. It's a joy to watch the daffs coming out this time of year - they're so decorative as much as the garden lights and easy to install.

Despite the forecast the sun is shining again today but I'm stuck in the office. I can't wait until the weekend when I can get back in the garden. My new solar garden lights should be arriving in the next couple of days and I'm eager to try them out.

Animal Lights

I should also say before I pop off to bed that I found a new set of animal themed lights on my favourite solar garden lighting web site earlier on. They are cute little sets of lights that come in four styles: bee, hedgehog, frog and otter. You should check them out, they're so great and of course, environmentally friendly.

Solar Light Design

I promised I'd say a few words about the fantastic range of design you can get in solar garden lighting products these days. Because the technology has moved on so much the working parts are small and the focus is put on the design. Designs range from a modernistic globe of light to an old-fashioned looking lantern. The best designers and now getting involved in designing these products as they are selling so well these days.

Photovoltaic Cell Technology

I'd like to tell you all about the latest advances in photovoltaic cell technology that make the solar garden lighting products on sale these days ten times better than they were only a short time ago. As environmental issues have come to the fore and solar lighting has become more and more popular the bods in their laboratories have been spending more and more time on coming up with better technology. Similar to the early days of the internet when there were hundreds of start up companies working on internet-based technology now it is the same for green technologies, most predominantly solar technology.

All this time spent has resulted in the efficiency of photovoltaic cells increasing exponentially. This means the cells themselves can be very small but yield a hig amount of energy storage. What this means for solar garden lighting products is that the techie bits which provide the wizardry of storing sunlight and using it at night to power the lights can be hidden away and the clever designers can put all their efforts into making a product that is beautiful. More on the designers of these products in a later blog.

Shopping Again

I've been shopping for solar lights again and managed to completely transform my outdoor space. The solar lights I bought were a lovely set of decking lights to lights up my decking beautifully, a solar security light to keep my property secure and deter unwanted visitors; and a garden lantern to place amongst my flower bed and reflect of the natural colour of the petals.

Sunshine

It's been a while since I last blogged. I've been busy out in the sunshine, re-positioning my solar garden lights. I've also been chcking out the latest range of solar lights at the Blinking Sun web site. They have a huge range of solar lights, all at fantastic prices.

Solar Lighting is the latest thing

I was walking around my garden in the rain today and imagining how it's going to be transformed in the coming months as the days get longer, the sun comes out and everything starts to grow. I remembered a friend who last year had some beatiful solar garden lights which completely transformed her garden. So I went looking round the web and found a brilliant site that sells a wide range of solar lights. These lights look fantastic and all are easy to install and cost nothing to run.
